WINTERBLOOM GUESTS

In the true spirit of collaboration, from time to time Winterbloom has special guests who join them for shows.

This summer, when Winterbloom performed at the Lilith Fair in Boston, they invited Lilith alumna Rose Polenzani to join them. Rose not only joined them to record and perform at the festival, she also drew and designed the artwork for the special edition compilation “Winterbloom at Lilith Fair” which was available only at the festival.

Around Boston, Rose is known as a great instigator of musical collaboration. In addition to recording and performing as a songwriter, Rose created and organizes a monthly gathering of musicians called “Sub-Rosa: the secret society of Rose Polenzani, friends and strangers.” In order to discover the society’s secrets, one must attend a gathering (at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, usually on or near the last Tuesday of every month). But generally the nights feature many of Boston’s finest artists and instrumentalists. Each show has at least one “stranger” – a singer/songwriter unknown to Rose and Company (Rose interviews the stranger). All of the artists of Winterbloom have participated in Sub-Rosa – in particular Anne Heaton is one of the original members from when the gatherings started in 2007.
